The 18 hole golf-course of Great Stapleton was created in 1984. It is 7,098 yards long and has a par of 72. Dr. Sutton, the president, is also the best player in the club with a handicap of +2. The pros in Great Stapleton are very famous persons in golf: Earl Woods (the father of Eldrick "Tiger" Woods) and David Leadbetter. They have the pro-shop with only the best products money can buy - for example Titleist, Callaway and also Taylor Made. The course-record is 62 (ten under par), played by Tiger Woods at the British Open in 1996. This tournament is played every year in Great Stapleton.
