Traditions were very important to the Chinese immigrants, however, the older generation immigrated because of their opposition to the government in Peking. the younger generation disagreed with them and supported the government in Peking. Also, many of the new Chinese immigrants believed in "The American Dream", but their expectations were too high. A lot of them were dissatisfied with America and became criminals.
